Walker Methodist Employee of The Year: Mike Reinert

Ken Lundeen | Nov 21, 2015

Mike ReinertHere at Walker Methodist, our staff strives to make the lives of our residents better each and every day. In order to live up to our mission, "Life. And all the living that goes with it", we depend on our staff to go the extra mile and bring a little extra spark to their interactions with our residents. This extra spark can make a big difference in the lives of our residents.

This October we honored a few of our employees at the Employee and Volunteer of the Year event. The employees honored have a reputation for going above and beyond to bring that extra spark to each interaction. Many of our employees are known for this, but Mike Reinert goes the extra mile every day.

How Does Mike Go Above and Beyond?

Mike travels to all Walker Methodist sites. He is always a Resident favorite wherever he goes. He consistently engages our Residents, introduces himself, and learns their names. Mike makes the time to converse and listen to our Residents' stories, problems, or needs and contributes in any way necessary to ensure those needs are being met.

How Does Mike Live Walker Methodist's Values of Respect, Imagination, and Collaboration?

Mike is the definition of respect. I have never met a more professional, compassionate individual in our line of work. He treats everyone he comes in contact with as an equal. In my opinion, Mike's ability to listen allows him to think outside of the box and offer abstract solutions to difficult problems. In addition, Mike has an unparalleled ability to work with anyone in any situation. "No" or "it's not my job" is not a part of Mike's vocabulary.

How Does Mike Contribute to Walker Methodist's Vision of
"The best place to live and work"?

The short answer to this is his attitude. Mike is always professional, positive, and optimistic!

Mike is truly an asset to our team. Everywhere he goes he brightens the day of all those he comes in contact with. We know we are incredibly lucky to have him! Mike, thank you for all that you do!
