Meet the Wii Bowling Team: Evelyn Ammom

Walker Methodist | Nov 28, 2018

Our Wii bowling team is now part of the national championship!  We sat down with resident, Evelyn Ammom to discuss their success as a team and life here at Walker Methodist.

What’s your favorite thing about Wii bowling?

It’s just a fun time to get together with other people and I enjoying coming and watching the other teams and their bowling, to cheer them on.  It’s just a time to get together with other people and its a lot of fun, I look forward to coming every day. I look forward to cheering the other teams on and even the people that are on my team, to cheer each other on if we don’t get that strike that we’re looking for.

How competitive do you get?

I am not all that competitive, I’d like to get better.  I’ve never done this before, so this is my first time around.  You know I keep thinking, what is it I’m doing? The others keep getting strikes and I’m still getting those splits.  I’m still working on that one.

How does it make you feel to be a part of the national championship?

I guess that’s exciting! It would be very exciting to get to that point [of the national championship] and have that happen.

What other social activities do you do at Walker Methodist?

The main thing that I do other than [bowling] is I go to the strength training and the balancing training.  There is another one where just we do various stretching and breathing which I think is good because sometimes when [you’re] in a place like this if you don't get out and do things you just don't get enough exercise.  I do look forward to that and again that’s a chance to get together with others. That's probably the main thing other than Wii bowling right now.

We’ve only been here since April so I’m still kind of trying to find my way around but there are definitely plenty of things to do around here.  If I hear anyone saying they’re bored, it’s not Walker’s fault. There is always something going on.

What’s your favorite part of living at Walker Methodist?

Not being out there picking up branches and pulling weeds in my own yard.  Walker Methodist has been great, it’s a community where everywhere you look there are very friendly people here. There's always somebody to visit with.  It’s a place where no matter what the weather is like, you don't have to worry about going outside, everything is right here.
