Learn residents’ favorite hobbies, games, and activities…

Amy Weiss | May 28, 2020

Our residents are still able to participate in many of their favorite activities, and some have even learned new hobbies! Thanks to the creativity of team members, they’re also still playing fun games like bingo. Here are some of our favorite, fun stories:

JohnnyJohnny Anderson, a resident at Walker Methodist Levande loves to collect yearbooks and newspaper articles. He even has collections from the 1930s! When team members stop by for visits, Johnny looks up names and shares interesting information.

paintingBarbara is an aspiring artist at Walker Methodist Place who has always loved various forms of artistic expression. “I’ve been seriously learning about and practicing watercolor painting for about four years,” said Barbara. “I’m dedicated to this endeavor and am enjoying it now more than ever.”  She created this wonderful painting to encourage our team members.

bonnieAt Walker Methodist Plaza, residents are showing off their creativity! When team members come by, residents pick something from the activity cart. They’ve painted wooden decorations and ceramics, completed puzzles, decorated birdhouses, and more. Residents at Plaza and many other communities (like Care Suites of Edina and Levande) still play bingo, too, and love winning prizes.
