Understanding Music & Memory - An Infographic

Cathy Schutt | Jan 25, 2018

As previously posted on our blog, our Facebook page, and Twitter feed, the Walker Methodist community is a true believer in the MUSIC & MEMORY℠ program and what it does to bring personalized music to senior living communities across the country.

This program introduces a way to bring music into the lives of people, specifically those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Playing personalized music is therapeutic and has been linked to slowing memory loss, increasing recognition and recollection, and improving the lifestyles of residents using the program.

We have also expanded our program to include iPads for life enrichment, called Tablet Engagement. Managed by a company called Generation Connect, Music and Memory was introduced in January's programming. At this time, Levande and Health Center teams are participating. We will also have training via webinar beginning in the next few months.

To learn more about how music interacts with our body, both mentally and emotionally, or how you can help spread the Miracle of Music, check out our infographic.

If you are willing and able, please consider donating to this amazing cause by clicking hereIt's not just those with the disease you will be helping. It's the families. It's the workers. It's their friends. It's your family. It's for everyone who has loved someone who has forgotten who they are. If you love people, love music, (hopefully both) or have been affected by this, we are asking for your help.
