About Walker Methodist Plaza
Plaza is one of Walker Methodist’s 10 living senior communities located across the Twin Cities metro. Serving older adults since 1945, we are a faith-based, non-profit organization focused on being a great place to live for our Residents and work for our employees. Plaza is the perfect example of both. As a retirement community, Plaza is a housing complex designed for adults who are generally able to care for themselves, with the option to receive assistance as needed. The community is robust with activities and socialization for Residents seeking connection and involvement.
The neighborhood where Plaza is located offers the comforts of a quaint downtown combined with the conveniences of city living. Within walking distance or easy transportation routes are places like Sparky’s Café, the Grass Roots Co-op, Two Scoops Ice Cream, Truffles and Tortes, Anoka County Historical Society, the Armory, and the confluence of the Rum and Mississippi Rivers.

The Plaza community offers floor plans created with comfort and convenience for all Residents. There are 11 different layouts to choose from in Cityview, based on individual preference for style and accessibility. Our dedicated team of staff does whatever it takes to find the perfect combination of living options and programs for all needs. In addition to care options and health services offered at Plaza, Walker Methodist features a number of living options as well, including:

- Assistance with daily activities – dressing, bathing, grooming
- 24-hour emergency call system
- Two daily meals
- Weekly housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation to outings, shopping, dining, and errands
- Enriching activities, social events, and Spiritual programs
Plaza’s Bright Future - Expanding in anoka
Walker Methodist senior living communities offer many levels of care, services, amenities, and most importantly – richness of life. It’s this dedication to life’s richness and living it the most fully that prompted us to expand upon our Plaza community in Anoka. Currently underway is the construction of Walker Methodist Plaza Gardens, an adjoining community that will be connected to Plaza Cityview via skyway. The new community will provide:
- 26 memory care suites
- 42 assisted living suites
- 5 enhanced care suites
The expansion will feature upgraded community spaces, dining rooms, a bistro, library & fireplace lounge, and many spaces to enjoy all of life’s special moments. We’ve taken great pride in providing beautiful spaces for older adults to call home in Anoka since 1990. Plaza is home to some very special Residents, and is staffed with compassionate Caregivers.
